Dr. Scholl’s Fast Flats: Cheap, Chic, and… Comfortable?

Dr. Scholl's Fast Flats

Now, I know I’m not the only one who pays more for insoles than for my trendy--yet torturously uncomfortable—heels. Beauty is pain, especially when you’re as cheap as I am. But what if you could have the best of both worlds? What if comfort and affordability came hand-in-hand? What if comfort and style came hand-in-hand? That’s a world I’d like to live in…

And now I can, with the Dr. Scholl’s Fast Flats. As I walked through my local pharmacy this weekend, and perused the insole aisle, wondering if there was enough gel cushioning in the world to make my $15, Forever 21 heels tolerable, I caught a glimpse of this impeccable product. The concept is simple: black, roll-up, ballet flats that fit perfectly into a petite, gold wristlet (which comes with the flats). The flats and the wristlet don’t try to be anything other than what they are—basic. So basic, in fact, that they can be seamlessly incorporated into any outfit. They are perfect to wear on the way to work before you slip on your office-appropriate heels. They are compact and lightweight enough to fit into your purse in preparation for a long day or night. They are ideal for any formal event where your heels are more for pictures than for walking. The best part? They’re $12. I guess beauty isn’t pain, after all.
